Invisalign®

make an Impact

At Pendleton Family Dentistry, we often hear our patients express concerns about their crooked or misaligned teeth. Crooked teeth can be a source of discomfort and embarrassment. Severe cases of misalignment can also cause more serious oral health problems that affect a person’s ability to speak and chew properly. Many of our patients say they want to improve their smiles, but they don’t want to deal with traditional braces. Thankfully, there is an option that can correct crooked teeth and is almost undetectable!

Why should I worry about crooked teeth?

If you aren’t concerned about the appearance of your crooked teeth, then perhaps you may need to assess if the position of your teeth affects other important areas of your life. Besides looking more aesthetically pleasing, straightening your teeth can also improve your oral health. Those with severely crooked or misaligned teeth often suffer from gum recession, grinding, periodontal disease, and clenching. Crooked teeth can even affect the way you talk, bite and chew.

What can I do about my crooked teeth?

If you suffer from crooked or misaligned teeth but don’t want the inconvenience associated with braces, we have a solution. At Pendleton Family Dentistry we are happy to be a provider of Invisalign®, a clear treatment option to correct crooked teeth. With these treatments, you don’t have to worry about clunky metal braces. Instead, we use a series of clear aligners to adjust your teeth in a simple, pain-free way. Clear aligners are removable and can be worn comfortably during the day and night. They won’t affect the way you speak and can be taken out when you want to eat, drink or brush your teeth.

What are the benefits of clear aligners?

Clear aligners such as Invisalign® provide a discreet, effective solution to crooked teeth. Benefits include:

No food restrictions
Comfortable
Shorter treatment time
Less expensive
Improved health and aesthetics
Removable
Discreet

Dr. Southard and her team are happy to answer any questions or concerns about Invisalign® treatment.

What should I expect during treatment?

During your examination, Dr. Southard will take X-rays, impressions/scans, and intra-oral photos of your mouth. This preliminary appointment may last up to one hour, but is worth every minute to ensure proper and accurate diagnostic information. This information will be sent to Invisalign® lab where the case will be analyzed and a set of aligners will be created just for you! You will have an opportunity to discuss the proposed treatment time and expected results with Dr. Southard before committing to the treatment. Aligners should be worn at least 22-23 hours per day, changing to a new set of aligners every 1 to 2 weeks. During this time your aligner will gently shift the position of your teeth. Treatment may take anywhere from two months to one year, depending on your case. Take back your smile and your oral health without worrying about the hassle of wires and metal brackets!
